Forest School is a child-centred learning process, providing practical activities and play in a natural setting. At Tudor Grange Academy Perdiswell, sessions take place in our beautiful woodland environment.  The key principles we promote are:

Look after yourself

Children are taught to manage their own safety and become adept at giving ‘safety talks’. Resilience, confidence and independence develop as they take part in a range of creative and practical activities.  Active games and quiet times of reflection are built into sessions to promote both physical and mental well-being.

Look after each other

Social skills are developed through games and team challenges. Consideration of the safety and well-being of others is promoted.

Look after the forest

Children are taught to respect nature and are encouraged to consider what they can do to enable the wildlife and plants in our woodland to thrive. Resources are provided to identify species, which builds knowledge of the natural world.
