At Tudor Grange Primary Academy Perdiswell, we want our children to really be able to understand and explain key events in modern history, especially ones that have shaped modern society and the idea of how events in the past have shaped and made the present. We want them to have a sense of who we are, and why we are the way we are as a nation. We also want them to look for patterns – what has remained the same, what has changed and be able to ask the question ‘why?’.

Through our history curriculum, we want our children to become historians by developing their disciplinary skills allowing them to question history and the different perspectives in order to piece together an accurate representation of what life was like in the past.

The themes, concepts, fundamental knowledge and historical skills have been mapped to ensure that pupils have ample opportunity to make progress in history by knowing and remembering more.
